Food and Drink

This page provides information on options for eating both on site and around San Antonio.

Dining Guide

A great starting place when deciding where to eat in San Antonio is our Dining Guide. You can download this in PDF format (4 MB file), and of course we'll be giving out printed copies at the convention. The guide lists over 60 restaurants, with cuisine, price range, location, opening hours, and contact information for each.

Dining Guide on Urban Spoon

We are very grateful to LoneStarCon 3 member Diane Kurilecz who has kindly converted the Dining Guide to an Urban Spoon guide. This gives immediate access to diner rankings and reviews as well as online booking.

Food and Drink at the Convention

At the convention center, food is available from the snack bar on the Lobby Bridge near to West Registration. There will also be a bar in the Gallery, but this will be for drinks only.

Eating options within the Marriott Rivercenter hotel include Sazo's, a Spanish restaurant, which is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Bar offers casual light fare, refreshments, and cocktails in a relaxing environment. And of course, Starbucks Coffee is available for your coffee needs.

Dining at the Marriott Riverwalk features the Cactus Flower Restaurant - a Tex-Mex restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And of course, there's a Starbucks here too, for that morning caffeine fix.

Dining options at our third hotel, the Hilton Palacio Del Rio, are The River's Edge Café and Patio Bar (American and South Texas inspired cuisine), Durty Nelly's (Irish pub), Tex's Riverwalk Sports Bar, and the Rincon Alegre Lobby Bar.

Close enough to be considered on-site, the Rivercenter Mall is directly accessible from the Marriott Rivercenter and features no less than 19 restaurants and other food outlets.

Dining on the River Walk

The River Walk area is packed with restaurants. We've created a separate page listing 30 of our favorites, organized by cuisine, with descriptions and booking links.

Gluten-Free Friendly

Members needing Gluten-Free food are recommended to using any of the major restaurant listing websites to locate suitable options. A list of Gluten-Free friendly restaurants on the River Walk can be found on Urban Spoon.
