Chesley Awards

The Chesley Award ceremony will be held on Friday, August 30, as the highlight and closing event of Art Night.

The ceremony itself will take place in Room 103B, starting at 09:00 p.m. Prior to this there will be an open reception in the Art Show for artists and members, with food and beverages.

The Chesley Awards are given by the Association of Science Fiction and Fantasy Artists (ASFA) and recognize individual artistic works and achievements in eleven categories, as listed below. The Chesley Award winners are nominated and then voted on by ASFA members. This year's awards are for works first published or exhibited in 2012.
  • Best Cover Illustration - Hardback Book
  • Best Cover Illustration - Paperback Book
  • Best Cover Illustration - Magazine
  • Best Interior Illustration
  • Best Color Work - Unpublished
  • Best Monochrome - Unpublished
  • Best Three Dimensional Art
  • Best Gaming Related Illustration

  • Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement
  • Award for Contribution to ASFA
  • Best Art Director
